The MTX RFL12 subwoofer is the worthy heir to a line of extreme subwoofers. In 2002, the RFL152 with multiple SPL records, in 2005 the Jackhammer22 (Pimp My Ride), the biggest and heaviest sub ever marketed (165Kg diameter 56cm), in 2005 the Jackhammer24 the largest square subwoofer ever marketed...
The RFL12 surpasses all of its ancestors... It is the very best. Not one technology has been spared it. All the best materials are gathered around its cradle!
- Gigantic magnetic structure with more than 14Kg of strontium… Perhaps the largest on the market
- Chassis in the purest MTX T8000 style, but ultra reinforced. The original T8000 chassis weighs 1200g. That of the RFL passes 3200g… All the hollow parts are filled, all the arms of the frame have doubled in volume, the contact with the upper circle is ultra reinforced.
- 35mm thick front plate (It measured 8mm on the older T9500s). This is what it takes to pass the enormous magnetic flux generated by the magnet and control the coil like no other subwoofer can.
- 35mm thick rear plate.
- 100mm (4") BASV voice coil support. The strongest available on the market…
- 4-layer coil for extreme power handling.
- Flat wire to better fill the air gap and obtain better reactivity.
- Aluminum wire (for the weight), plated with copper (to pass the intensity) of the CCAR type.
- The varnish which insulates the wire from the spool supports 280°C.
- Double screwed Nomex spider for easier replacement and more precise assembly.
- Paper membrane with ultra rigid fiberglass dust cover.
- The top suspension is capable of handling over 90mm of travel.
- Cone and suspension with double stitching of red thread.
- Single coil with 2Ω impedance easier to connect and configure.
- Symmetrical terminal blocks accepting 10mm2 cables.
- Cables terminal blocks-coils double is sewn on the spider to easily follow the deflections of the membrane.
- The weight of the RFL12 reaches 36kg.
- It comes in a wooden crate because the cardboard would not be enough.
- You need a hand truck or a pallet truck to move it.
- Its parameters are optimized for use in bass-reflex boxes.
It is built to reproduce music at a very high sound level, with force, and a riot of sensations. The RFL15 has nothing to do with the toys found in the sandbox... RFL stands for "Really Fu... Loud"! Welcome to the extreme world, for real...
