TX6500D

500W RMS @2Ω mono block class-D amplifier with complete variable x-over and bridge mode

Introduction

The MTX TX6500D mono block amplifier (500W) is an excellent power price compromise. It is also a marvel of technology because it is based on the same scheme as its predecessors, the TX81000D and RFL4001D. The quality of the components is at the same level, that is to say the perfection of IRF or Elna. The flexibility of its active filters and the possibility of mounting it as a bridge make it a cutting-edge weapon in the reproduction of infra bass. We spent two years developing and making it more reliable.

  • The TX6500D can power a TX612 or TX615 subwoofer. You just have to connect the (+) of the sub and the (+) of the HP output of the amplifier. Same for (-).
  • MTX SLH subwoofers are perfectly suited to TX6 subwoofers.
  • It is possible to bridge two TX6500D amplifiers to make a 1000W RMS amplifier under 4Ω.
  • A thermoregulated connector allows one or two 12V computer type fans to be supplied in the event of severe use or in very hot regions.
  • The quality of your bass system will have the quality of the weakest link. You have to balance your bass system between the amp and the subwoofer. With the TX6500D amplifier, you must use a TX612 or TX615 sub.
  • To get the most from your TX6500D, you should use a quality power pack like the MTX ZNX21K, with careful assembly and a working battery.
  • Recommended effective combinations:
    • A TX6500D amplifier with 1x TX612 or 1x TX615 subwoofer
    • Two TX6500D amplifiers with 1x TX812 or 1x TX815 subwoofer
    • For the other front and rear speakers, the TX480D amplifier is perfectly suited
    • Power supply pack: MTX StreetWires ZNX21K

Restrictions

The power of the amplifier should not exceed that of the loudspeaker. You have to compare RMS powers with RMS powers. The amplifiers should not be exposed to moisture, excessive vibration, or high temperatures.

Warning

MTX wants you to enjoy your hearing for a long time. Excessive exposure to loud volumes can damage your hearing. The United States Department of Labor recommends not exceeding the following recommendations.

  • 90db : maximum 8 hours/day
  • 92dB : maximum 6 hours/day
  • 95db : maximum 4 hours/day
  • 97db : maximum 3 hours/day
  • 100db : maximum 2 hours/day
  • 102db : maximum 90 minutes/day
  • 105db : maximum 60 minutes/day
  • 110db : maximum 30 minutes/day
  • 115db : maximum less than 15 minutes/day
  • 120db : immediate danger, 0 minute/day
